GUEST BAND F.A.Q.s

Q: HOW DO I GET MY BAND BOOKED ON CITY NIGHTS?

A: City Nights appearances are generally booked months in advance, though occasionally we will need to book a replacement guest on short notice. Due to the huge demand from local bands wanting to appear, City Nights requires some type of audition from each band before booking them. This can be in the form of a demo CD or tape or by getting us to check you out at a scheduled performance somewhere near by. Just like you though, our time is limited, so the best way to get on our radar is to send us your demo (or a link to it) AND a list of upcoming local appearances. Demos and schedules can be sent to: City Nights, 3414 Decoursey Avenue, Covington, KY, 41015 or call (859) 261-1300 for more information.  Links can be sent to jdudas@tbnk.org with requests for booking.

Q: WHAT DO WE NEED TO BRING WITH US?

A: The TBNK studio is fully equipped for television production, but you will need to bring pretty much everything that you would take to a "bar gig." The studio is not very large, so a PA system is not needed. We have a large supply of mics, cables, stands, etc., but if you have particular items that you like to use at every show, feel free to bring them along. The studio has a Alesis Midiverb unit for vocals and a DBX 266XL Compressor/Limiter for additional effects. The studio also has a pair of Mackie wedges for band monitors.

Q: WHO ELSE CAN COME ALONG?

A: Again, the studio is not very large, but we enjoy having a live studio audience, so feel free to bring a few friends. The studio can hold an audience of about 15 people comfortably. The live show starts at 8:30pm sharp, so please have your audience members in the studio by 8:15 p.m. If you have a sound person or band manager, they can join us in the control room if they like.

Q: CAN WE PERFORM COVER SONGS?

A: City Nights specializes in bringing the greatest, orginial music of the Greater Cincy area to its audience. While we may have the occassional cover song, we try to avoid booking "cover" or "tribute" bands.

Q: WHAT TIME DO WE NEED TO ARRIVE?

A: City Nights goes live at 8:30 p.m. SHARP so please plan to arrive between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. This gives the crew enough time to properly set up the studio, soundcheck and mix each band before the live show.

Q: HOW DO WE GET COPIES OF THE SHOW AND WHEN DOES IT AIRS, AND WHERE?

A: Each band leaves the show with an audio CD of the live perforance and will be sent download links for the MP4 video files at a later date. City Nights airs live in Kenton County (NKY) on TBNK 185/821, on Spectrum and Altafiber cable systems, every Friday night at 8:30 p.m. with replays the following Monday night at 11 p.m.  All episodes are featured on the City Nights YouTube channel and City Nights also airs on Metro 24 (Spectrum) in Cincinnati, Wednesdays at 5:30pm, thanks to ICRC. It may take up to a month for your episode to replay on Metro 24 due to syndication agreements.
